Enrollment: Do I have to undergo a live Scan Exam ?
All applicants must undergo
Live Scan fingerprinting upon enrollment. This background check is required by
the CDPH to ensure there are no disqualifying convictions before you begin
clinical rotations.
Enrollment: Is a Physical Exam required?
Physical
Exam: A recent health examination
signed by a medical provider confirming you can perform the physical demands of
patient care.
Tuberculosis (TB) Test: Documentation of a negative TB
skin test or a blood test (QuantiFERON). If you have a history of positive
tests, a chest X-ray taken within the last year is required to confirm you are
asymptomatic. Be sure to use the healthcare screening form we send to your email upon registration. This needs to be signed by your physician BEFORE the beginning of the 3 weeks of training, in which we begin our direct patient care.
Learning: Is the CNA program approved by the State?
Yes. Our 160-hour (60 hours theory + 100 hours direct patient care) Nurse
Assistant Training Program (NATP) is fully approved by the California
Department of Public Health (CDPH). The curriculum meets all state regulatory
requirements to ensure students are eligible for certification upon completion.
Learning: How long is the training program?
We offer a 6-week Nurse Assistant Training Program with
classes and clinicals held Monday–Friday. The curriculum includes 60 hours of
in-class instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical experience. We offer day courses at this time.
Learning: What is the requirement to enroll?
You must be at least 16 years
of age to train as a CNA in California.
Identification: Provide a valid government-issued photo ID and a
Social Security card (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). It is critical that your name is an exact match between your government photo ID and SSN. If they do not match, you must work quickly to make necessary corrections, or you will face delays to be able to take the state examination upon graduation from our program.
Learning: What does the program cost?
The total cost is $1650 that
includes: Textbook & workbook (yours to keep), 1 uniform, lab supplies, Professional student ID badge, and free CPR certification [American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS - 2025 updated version)].
Learning: Is a High School Diploma required?
While California does not
legally require a high school diploma for certification, many clinical sites
and programs require a High School Diploma or GED. Applicants without a diploma
may be required to pass a basic entrance exam in reading and math to ensure
program success.
